"Over the years I have developed a picture of what a human being living humanely is like. She is a person who understands, values and develops her body, finding it beautiful and useful; a person who is real and is willing to take risks, to be creative, to manifest competence, to change when the situation calls for it, and to find ways to accommodate to what is new and different, keeping that part of the old that is still useful and discarding what is not."
~Virginia Satir

today is my last day for beads in the jail. i hand it over to judi, and hopefully, they will assent to a class i want to start once a month there on parenting. bead class has been on hiatus for two months now--i feel so far away from it that it doesn't seem such a devastating thing to hand it over, and i'll be a sub when needed. the parenting class--this is something the women themselves have asked for. i'll present the idea to the sheriff, with the jail captain at my side, and we will see.
