The blog goes a bit bipolar. Happy Sunday, and then today.

I suppose most people have to face the decision to put their pet to sleep. It's my turn. Tigger, also known as Rum Tum Tigger, has been with us for eighteen years. He was our first anniversary kitty. He's a cream colored persian and a gentle soul. A year ago, he was wasting away, but I changed his diet and this brought him back to life. We knew we were buying time.

He grew up with this marriage, with these kids. There was a time in his life when the babies were born when he was ignored (until the babies found him.) He was shy early on, then friendly with visitors, charming guests. Years ago, he would fetch bracelets and milk cap rings. He has many friends, and he's really never been past the front door. The last year or so, he's been sleeping on my son's bed at night. (This is truly the saddest person in the family right now.) He's been an old man for the past year and a half, kind of fading, a little dull, forgetting to wash, but still his sweet kitty self. And now he's sick again. It's time. We take him in tomorrow. I hate this.
