There's a baby bunny in a shoebox on my dresser. K. found it today and showed it to me. Because a thunderstorm was coming and because it seemed to be truly abandoned, we took it in. Luckily we had that trusty can of Mother's Replacement Milk for Kittens and Wild Animals sitting on the shelf for just such an emergency. (This is what happens when your child loves all the animals in the world.) So the bunny nursed from an eye dropper, and now I am its mommy. Tomorrow it goes to school with me where I will nurse it all the whole day through. The wild animal guy I called assured me I could do this. But will this little bunny live?
"It's name," says K., is Diamond."
