LightsOne of the best things about Christmas: when my girl sings "Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella." Just because she was singing it the first time I ever heard it, and now I think of it as her song. Lovely.
The lights are up on the house. I plug them in and smile. In the snowy dark last night they looked like something out of a Chris Van Allsburg book; illuminating the roofline, enticement for reindeer. But I love the deeper meaning--these lights, metaphor for the light that came, the light we carry within.
Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.
~Rabindranath Tagore
