marcie and i went walking this afternoon. i love the woods, the weak november sunlight, the brown brown with a little green or red left over from the riotous colors of weeks past. No more leaf art--nature, she's packed up her palette.
in 'the hidden wholeness', parker palmer speaks of our shy souls, hiding out undercover where it's safe. i feel that. in the north woods, he experiences wholeness, the soul coaxed out of it's deep quiet place. for me, i experience the same, but it takes hours of walking in the woods--hours i never spend. if we don't nurture our souls, if we don't invite them into awareness, what is there for us?
