The first Sunday of Advent
The season starts whether we are ready or not. Awaken, we, gently shaken out of our sleep, ready for the new birth. And around us, the world settles into the fallow time, hibernating until the days lengthen and the sun draws near again.

All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise. Eveything this season sings of--a journey to one's true home, a woman waiting for her first child, a star for a guide--everything points to redemption. Can we believe in it? Can we find the light that guides us? Can we speak the Word?

(Okay, so "Blackbird" (Lennon/McCartney) is not a Christmas song. Or is it? That verse is probably the best Christmas lyric. Also, all pix during Advent come from stock.xchang.)
