When I close my eyes and breathe in the evening air, I can almost feel the faint heartbeat of spring. Are the river spirits waking beneath the melting ice? It is late winter now; nothing can hold back the longer days. Deep inside, I have this longing. It's like waking up again. I long for deep silences, a whisper of my inner voice, clarity in my soul. It runs deep, like a river cut into a silent canyon. If I could just rest in this place awhile, I think all would be well.
