WaitingWhen I was little I'd wait on Christmas Eve for my older brother and sister to come home. Home!! One bringing her family, one bringing his girlfriend. The house would be clean. I'd sit on my newly-made bed in my tidy room waiting in the late afternoon twilight. I'd turn off the light and sit quietly watching the snow fall onto the darkened street below. Good things were about to happen.
We carry this with us, this waiting. Things are quickening. If we take a moment and breathe, maybe we'll figure out what we're waiting for. All we've ever wanted is closer than we think. How do we bring it home?
